Halloween Chex Mix Recipe

Halloween Chex Mix Recipe

Trick or treat? Surprise little witches and goblins with this fruit, candy and cereal mix. They’ll be "goblin" it up!

8 oz white chocolate baking bars, coarsely chopped
4 cups Corn Chex or Rice Chex cereal
2 cups bite-size pretzel twists
1/2 cup raisins1 cup candy corn
1/4 cup orange and black candy decors

1. In large microwavable bowl, microwave chopped baking bars uncovered on High 1 minute 30 seconds to 2 minutes 30 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted and smooth.

2. Gently stir in cereal, pretzels and raisins until evenly coated. Stir in candy corn and decors.

3. Spread on waxed paper or foil until cool and chocolate is set, about 30 minutes. Break into chunks. Store loosely covered.

Halloween Recipe - Halloween Black Cat Cake

Halloween Black Cat Cake

1 box Betty Crocker SuperMoist devil's food cake mix
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
1 container Betty Crocker Rich & Creamy chocolate frosting
1 large yellow gumdrop
1 small black gumdrop
Black shoestring licorice

1. Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Make and cool cake as directed on box for two 8-inch or 9-inch round pans.

2. Cut cake as shown in diagram; arrange and frost top and sides of cake pieces with frosting. Use yellow gumdrop slices for eyes, black gumdrop for nose and shoestring licorice for whiskers, lines on eyes and front paws. Store loosely covered.

Halloween Recipe - Spooky Gloved Munch Mix

Spooky Gloved Munch Mix

6 cups letter-shaped sweetened oat and corn cereal
4 cups popped popcorn
2 cups Miniature Marshmallows
1 cup dried mixed fruit
1 cup candy-coated chocolate pieces
100 candy corn pieces (about 1 cup)
10 clear large plastic food handlers' gloves
10 pieces raffia, each about 8 inches long

TOSS cereal with popcorn, marshmallows, dried fruit and chocolate candies in large bowl or toy witch's cauldron.

PLACE 1-1/4 cups of the snack mix in each of 10 small plastic bags. Give one to each child along with 10 pieces of candy corn, a plastic glove and piece of raffia. Have each child place 2 pieces of candy corn, with the white tips down, in each thumb and finger section of the plastic glove to resemble fingernails.

FILL gloves evenly with snack mix; tie closed with raffia.

Halloween Recipe - Breadstick Bones

Breadstick Bones

1 can (7 oz) Pillsbury refrigerated breadsticks (6 breadsticks)
1 egg white, beaten
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1 can (8 oz) pizza sauce, heated

1. Heat oven to 375°F. Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray. Unroll dough; separate at perforations into 6 breadsticks. Roll each until 12 inches long. Loosely tie knot in both ends of each breadstick; place on cookie sheet (do not twist).

2. Brush breadsticks with egg white. Sprinkle with cheese and basil.

3. Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm "bones" with warm pizza sauce for dipping.

Skeleton and Brain Dip

Lettuce leaves
1 cup Ranch Dressing or Light Ranch Dressing
2 cups assorted cut-up fresh vegetables, such as bell pepper strips, cucumber slices, snow peas, mushroom slices, celery sticks, carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes, broccoli florets, cauliflower florets

LINE small bowl with lettuce leaves; fill with dressing. Place near one end of a large serving platter.
ARRANGE vegetables in a skeleton shape on platter, using the bowl as the head of the skeleton.

Halloween Recipe - Crescent Mummy Dogs

Crescent Mummy Dogs

Hot dogs are all wrapped up in a classic recipe for Halloween...or anytime a chuckle is in order.

1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury refrigerated crescent dinner rolls or 1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury Crescent Recipe Creations refrigerated flaky dough sheet
2 1/2 slices American cheese, quartered (2.5 oz)
10 large hot dogs
Cooking spray
Mustard or ketchup, if desired

1. Heat oven to 375°F.

2. If using crescent rolls: Unroll dough; separate at perforations, creating 4 rectangles. Press perforations to seal. If using dough sheet: Unroll dough; cut into 4 rectangles.

3. With knife or kitchen scissors, cut each rectangle lengthwise into 10 pieces, making a total of 40 pieces of dough. Slice cheese slices into quarters (1/2 slice cheese, cut in half).

4. Wrap 4 pieces of dough around each hot dog and 1/4 slice of cheese to look like "bandages," stretching dough slightly to completely cover hot dog. About 1/2 inch from one end of each hot dog, separate "bandages" so hot dog shows through for "face." On ungreased large cookie sheet, place wrapped hot dogs (cheese side down); spray dough lightly with cooking spray.

5. Bake 13 to 17 minutes or until dough is light golden brown and hot dogs are hot. With mustard, draw features on "face."

Halloween Recipe - Cheese Pumpkins

Cheese Pumpkins

Halloween guests will enjoy clever edible pumpkins, whether served as an appetizer or used as a garnish. What a treat!

8 tablespoons smoked Cheddar cold pack cheese food (from 8-oz container), well chilled
2 teaspoons finely chopped peanuts
4 butter-flavored pretzel spindles or sticks, broken in half
16 tiny pieces fresh parsley leaves

1. Line small serving plate with waxed paper. Roll each level tablespoon cold pack cheese food into a ball; place on waxed paper-lined serving plate. Refrigerate 10 to 15 minutes for easier handling.

2. With end of toothpick, draw ridges around balls to resemble pumpkins. Dip bottoms of cheese balls in chopped peanuts.

3. Just before serving, insert pretzel halves into cheese balls for pumpkin stems. Decorate with parsley for leaves. Store in refrigerator.

Halloween Recipe - Orange Spider Web Tart

Orange Spider Web Tart

1 Pillsbury refrigerated pie crust (from 15-oz box), softened as directed on box
1 box (4-serving size) orange-flavored gelatin
3/4 cup boiling water
1 cup orange sherbet, slightly softened
1 cup frozen (thawed) whipped topping
2 tablespoons miniature semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil

1. Heat oven to 450°F. Make pie crust as directed on box for One-Crust Baked Shell using 10-inch tart pan with removable bottom or 9-inch glass pie pan. Trim edge if necessary. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.

2. Place gelatin in medium bowl. Stir in boiling water until gelatin is completely dissolved. Spoon sherbet into gelatin mixture, stirring until melted. Place in freezer until soft set, about 5 minutes.

3. Stir sherbet mixture. Stir in whipped topping until well blended. Spoon mixture into cooled baked shell.

4. In small resealable food-storage plastic bag, place chocolate chips and oil; seal bag. Place bag in bowl of very hot water. Flex bag several times to melt chips. Cut small hole in bottom corner of bag. Working from center to outer edge, pipe chocolate to form spiral design. Working from center of spiral to outer edge, draw tip of knife lightly through spiral to form web design. Refrigerate at least 20 minutes or until serving time.

Halloween Recipe - Graveyard Crunch

Graveyard Crunch

1/4 cup maple-flavored or pancake syrup
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
4 cups cocoa or fruit-flavored sweetened rice cereal
1 cup Roasted Peanuts
2 cups Miniature Marshmallows
1 cup candy corn
1 cup candy-coated chocolate pieces

PREHEAT oven to 300°F. Place syrup, butter and cinnamon in large microwaveable bowl. Microwave on HIGH 1 min.; stir until butter is completely melted. Add cereal and peanuts; mix lightly. Spread into lightly greased 15x10x1-inch baking pan.

BAKE 30 min., stirring after 15 min. Cool completely. Break into pieces; place in large bowl.

ADD marshmallows and candies; mix lightly. Store in tightly covered container at room temperature.

Witches' Hats Cookies

Make this "spook-tacularly" easy cookie for Halloween parties or treats!

32 Hershey's Kisses milk chocolates, unwrapped
1 package (11 1/2 ounces) fudge-striped shortbread cookies
1 tube (4.25 ounces) orange or red decorating icing

1. Attach 1 chocolate candy to chocolate bottom of each cookie, using decorating icing.

2. Pipe decorating icing around base of milk chocolate candy.

Halloween Recipe - Witches Finger Sandwiches

Witches Finger Sandwiches

Served warm or cold, you can literally "point fingers" at family and friends with these easy sandwiches!

INGREDIENTS:

1 (11-oz.) can Pillsbury Refrigerated Breadsticks
6 small slices pepperoni
12 (2/3-oz.) slices American pasteurized process cheese food
3/4 cup finely shredded lettuce

DIRECTIONS:

1. Heat oven to 375°F. Separate dough into 12 strips. Place flat on ungreased cookie sheet; do not twist. With sharp knife or kitchen scissors, cut 2 small triangles from one end of each dough strip to form a point that resembles a fingertip. Lightly score breadsticks in center to resemble knuckles.

2. Cut each pepperoni slice into 2 pointed ovals to resemble 2 fingernails. Place 1 pepperoni piece on each breadstick.

3. Bake at 375°F. for 13 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. If necessary, reapply "fingernails" with small dot of ketchup.

4. Split each breadstick. Cut each cheese slice into strips and place in breadstick, overlapping strips. Top each with lettuce. If desired, serve with mustard, mayonnaise or ketchup. Serve warm or cold.

Halloween Recipe - Coffin Sandwiches

Coffin Sandwiches

2 slices whole wheat bread
3 slices Smoked Ham
1 Kraft Singles
1 Tbsp. Miracle Whip Dressing
1 lettuce leaf

COVER 1 of the bread slices with ham and Singles. Spread with dressing; top with lettuce. Secure with plastic toothpick, if desired.

CUT sandwich into coffin shape using coffin template (shown below) and sharp knife.

WRITE scary messages on sandwiches with decorating gel, yellow mustard or ketchup.

Halloween Apple Bites

These toothsome treats are a fun and healthy break from Halloween sweets.

Apples
Slivered almonds

1. Just quarter and core an apple, cut a wedge from the skin side of each quarter, then press slivered almonds in place for teeth.

2. Tip: If you're not going to serve them right away, baste the apples with orange juice to keep them from browning.

Halloween Recipe - Scary Pudding Cups

Scary Pudding Cups

1 square BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate
2 cups cold milk
6 drops green food coloring
1 pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Vanilla Instant Pudding
8 OREO Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, crushed

MELT chocolate in microwave as directed on package. Use a clean small paint brush to paint a monster face on the inside of each of four clear 5-oz. plastic cups with the melted chocolate. Refrigerate until ready to use.

ADD milk and food coloring to dry pudding mix in medium bowl. Beat with wire whisk 2 min. or until well blended. Immediately pour into prepared cups.

TOP with the cookie crumbs. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving. Store any leftover desserts in refrigerator.

Halloween Recipe - Spooky Ghost Cake

Spooky Ghost Cake

1 pkg. (2-layer size) yellow cake mix
1 pkg. (4-serving size) Vanilla Instant Pudding
1 pkg. (8 oz.) Cream Cheese, softened
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. (16 oz.) powdered sugar, sifted (4 to 4-1/2 cups)
Black decorating gel
5 OREO Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, divided

PREPARE cake batter as directed on package. Add dry pudding mix; mix well. Spoon evenly into 24 paper-lined medium muffin cups. Bake as directed on package for cupcakes. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.

BEAT cream cheese, butter and vanilla in medium bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Gradually add sugar, beating well after each addition.

ARRANGE cupcakes on large serving platter or tray to resemble a ghost as shown in the diagram below. Spread with frosting. Use decorating gel to outline the mouth on the cupcakes. Finely crush 3 of the cookies; sprinkle inside mouth. Place remaining 2 cookies on cupcakes to resemble eyes. Store in refrigerator.

Halloween Recipe - Spooky Halloween Cutout Cookies

Spooky Halloween Cutout Cookies

Gather your goblins and decorate these cookies made from your favorite cake mix flavor. It’s sure to be a hauntingly good time!

1 box Betty Crocker SuperMoist devil's food, white or yellow cake mix
1/3 cup shortening
1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg

1. Heat oven to 375°F (350°F for dark or nonstick cookie sheets). In large bowl, beat all ingredients with electric mixer on medium speed about 1 minute or until thoroughly mixed.

2. Divide dough in half. On lightly floured surface, roll each half of dough 1/4 inch thick using cloth-covered rolling pin. With 2 1/2-inch cookie cutters, cut into desired shapes. Cut designs in cookies with sharp knife if desired. Place shapes on ungreased cookie sheets .

3. Bake 6 to 8 minutes or just until set (centers will be soft). Cool 1 minute. Immediately make hole in tops of some cookies, using end of plastic straw; trim any cut edges with sharp knife to straighten. Remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks. Cool completely.

4. Tie ribbon or yarn through holes to hang. Hang ornaments on tree branches anchored in a pot or on Halloween tree (available at craft stores). Decorate remaining cookies as desired.

Halloween Recipe - Monster Coffin Cake

Monster Coffin Cake

1/3 cup KOOL-AID Grape Flavor Sugar-Sweetened Soft Drink Mix
2 Tbsp. hot water
4 oz. (1/2 of 8-oz. pkg.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1 cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
4 OREO Cookies, divided
1 pkg. (10.75 oz.) frozen pound cake, thawed
10 JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows
1 JET-PUFFED Marshmallow
Black decorating gel
3 worm-shaped chewy fruit snacks

PLACE drink mix in large bowl. Add hot water; stir until drink mix is completely dissolved. Add cream cheese; beat with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Gently stir in whipped topping with wire whisk. Remove 1/2 tsp. of the cream cheese mixture for later use; set remaining cream cheese mixture aside.

CRUSH 3 of the cookies; place cookie crumbs in shallow dish. Set aside. Cut cake lengthwise in half. Frost cake top with some of the remaining cream cheese mixture. Dip in cookie crumbs until evenly coated; set aside. Place cake bottom on serving platter; frost top and sides with some of the remaining cream cheese mixture. Place cake top next to cake bottom to resemble coffin lid. Frost sides and cut side of cake top with remaining cream cheese mixture.

PLACE remaining cookie in center of cake bottom to resemble a body. Line up two rows of 3 mini marshmallows each at bottom of "body" to resemble legs. Place 2 miniature marshmallows on sides of "body" to resemble arms. Place large marshmallow at top of "body" to resemble head. Using reserved 1/2 tsp. cream cheese mixture, attach 2 miniature marshmallows to sides of "head" to resemble ears. Use decorating gel to draw mouth and eyes. Top cake with fruit snacks.

Halloween Recipe - Spooky Brownies

Spooky Brownies

1 box Betty Crocker Supreme brownie mix (with chocolate syrup pouch)
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for in brownie mix directions
1 container Betty Crocker Rich & Creamy creamy white frosting
Neon green, pink and blue food colors
24 large marshmallows
Miniature candy-coated chocolate baking bits
Black decorating gel
1 roll Betty Crocker Fruit Roll-Ups chewy fruit snack (any red variety)
Gummy worms candies


1. Heat oven to 350°F. Bake and cool brownies as directed. Cut into 24 brownies, 6 rows by 4 rows.

2. Remove lid and foil cover from container of frosting. Microwave frosting uncovered on High about 20 seconds or until frosting can be stirred smooth. Divide warm frosting among 3 small bowls, 1 for each color. Decorate as directed below, using 8 brownies for each.

Franken-Brownies- Add 5 drops green food color to frosting in 1 bowl; mix well. Top each of 8 brownies with 1 large marshmallow. Spoon 1 tablespoon green frosting over each marshmallow to coat. Decorate with green baking bits for eyes and ears. Use black gel for mouths and centers of eyes. Cut fruit snack to use for hair.

Boo-Brownies- Top each of 8 brownies with 1 large marshmallow. Spoon 1 tablespoon white frosting over each marshmallow to coat. Use black gel for eyes and mouths.

Spider Brownies- Add 5 drops pink food color and 3 drops blue food color to frosting in 1 bowl; mix well. Top each of 8 brownies with 1 large marshmallow. Tuck gummy worms candies under each marshmallow for legs. Spoon 1 tablespoon purple frosting over each marshmallow to coat. Use orange baking bits for eyes. Use black gel for mouths, centers of eyes and eyebrows.

Halloween Recipe - Boo Cups

Boo Cups

3-1/4 cups cold milk

2 pkg. (3.9 oz. each) Chocolate Instant Pudding

1 tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed, divided

20 OREO Cookies, crushed, divided

30 miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips

BEAT milk and pudding mixes with whisk 2 min. Stir in 1/2 each COOL WHIP and cookie crumbs.

SPOON 1 Tbsp. of the remaining crumbs into each of 15 (6-oz.) plastic cups. Cover with layers of pudding mixture and remaining crumbs.

DROP remaining COOL WHIP by spoonfuls onto desserts to resemble ghosts. Add chocolate chips for the eyes.
